Cover Crop Academy
Want to increase your agronomic skills and knowledge around cover crops in a fun, cohort based class? Join the 2026-27 Cover Crop Academy from UMN Extension, designed for ag professionals in the public and private sector. The course takes place over 11 months, including 2-3 in person meetings at UMN research locations, where you can design and monitor your own cover crop research plots. Online modules and meetings will include scenario work and guest speakers on cover crop establishment, fertilizer and manure management with cover crops, herbicide interactions and termination considerations. At the end, you should be able to help producers in your network build successful cover crop plans and troubleshoot different conditions, plus you'll have a new network of local professionals to turn to with questions. The easement alteration policy was created to establish the requirements and conditions necessary for BWSR to consider a request to alter an existing conservation easement.
