Cropland In-Field Soil Health Assessment Training
This training is designed to provide an introduction to the Cropland In-Field Soil Health Assessment, a tool for inventorying soils and identifying resource concerns related to soil health on croplands (organic matter depletion, compaction, aggregate instability, and soil organism habitat loss/degradation).
Learning how to do the assessment in the field is easy. Interpreting and utilizing the results is the hard part.
Topics Include:
1. Conservation Planning & Soil Health Assessment - Holly Giombi
2. Cropland In-Field Soil Health Assessment - Andy Paolucci
3. Assessing Crop Management Systems for Soil Health - Brian Hillers
4. Documenting Soil Health Resource Concerns in CART - Michelle Komiskey
5. Q & A, Closeout - Andy Paolucci
For hands on, “IN” field training to conduct the cropland soil health assessment contact an Area Resource Soil Scientist or attend the next Basic Soil Health and Sustainability for Field Staff Training (Summer 2022).
