NRCS’ contribution agreement with Morrison SWCD and its renewed financial assistance focus on private land in the Sentinel Landscape where forest management can improve resiliency and habitat while protecting the National Guard’s mission.
Designed for trout and traffic
Carlton SWCD worked with the county transportation department, using federal and state funds to replace a culvert with a free span bridge and to restore a stretch of trout stream. Habitat and water quality will benefit.
Smart salting training, in Spanish
The Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization is hosting a Spanish-language smart salting training in an effort to better serve Latino communities and reduce chloride pollution in lakes, rivers and streams within the watershed.
