Hoary puccoon (Lithospermum canescens)

Difficult to propagate but important in remnant prairies across Minnesota, hoary puccoon produces showy, bright orange flowers. Those vivid flowers produce infertile seeds. Inconspicuous, self-pollinating flowers appear later.
