Large-Flowered Penstemon (Penstemon grandiflorus)

The Large-flowered Penstemon is a short-lived perennial plant that most commonly grows in the sandy soils of the open prairie. It is one of the showiest of the penstemons, the name "grandiflorus" meaning "grand flowering."
