About Local Government Units
BWSR is the administrative agency for local water planners (Counties or county-delegated LGU), Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs), Watershed Districts (WDs), Joint Powers Watershed Management Organizations (WMOs), and Wetland Conservation Act (WCA) LGUs, which may be cities, townships, or any of the above. Almost 800 local units of government are empowered to deliver services on behalf of BWSR. By providing financial, technical and administrative assistance to LGUs, BWSR and local partners implement state conservation policy based on local priorities.
